The Future of Building Control

Proposals for Gambling Commission fees from 1 August 2008

The Gambling Act 2005 allows the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to make regulations setting fees to be paid to the Gambling Commission in respect of the exercise of certain of its functions under the 2005 Act. Fees are set in accordance with the 2005 Act and HM Treasury's fees and charges guide.

Payment scheme arrangements for fruit, vegetable, nursery crops & vines

This consultation seeks views on the Single Payment Scheme (SPS) aspects of the reforms of both the European Union (EU) fruit and vegetable regime and EU wine regime. The reforms have the potential to make additional land eligible under the SPS and provide the option for SPS payment entitlements to be allocated in respect of this land.

Implementing the Environmental Liability Directive

The Regulations impose obligations on operators of activities which cause or threaten to cause environmental damage. Environmental damage is defined in the Regulations, and generally includes only the more serious damage to certain species and habitats, water and land.

Consultation on the draft Marine Bill

The Draft Marine Bill was published on 3 April 2008. The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs is seeking views on the proposals set out in the draft Bill, such as the creation of the Marine Management Organisation, licensing activities in the marine area, managing marine fisheries, and a penalties scheme for domestic fisheries offences.

European Commission proposal for the marketing and use of animal feed

Draft Feeding Stuffs (England) Regulations 2008

Feeding stuffs for particular nutritional purposes are non-medicinal feeds intended to meet the nutritional requirements of farmed livestock, pet animals and horses whose metabolism may be permanently or temporarily impaired. Examples include the reduction of intestinal absorptive disorders in dogs and cats.

The Food Safety Act - a guide for food businesses

The Food Standards Agency has written new guidance notes to compliance with the Food Safety Act 1990. The guide provides advice for food businesses on the requirements of the Food Safety Act 1990 and updates the previous version issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Proposals for the classification, packaging and labelling of chemicals

This consultation seeks comments on proposed amendments to the Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply Regulations 2002 (CHIP). The amendments are necessary because the UK must implement into national legislation EC Directive 2006/8/EC.
