Atlas Pro - traffic information for professionals

If you regularly use the Highways Agency network, you can benefit from enhanced traffic information covering major roads in England.

Atlas Pro is a free web service from the Highways Agency that provides information directly to registered users. The service:

• is tailored to the needs of professional users
• provides more detailed information than the public traffic information service
• provides text-based information
• collects data from thousands of roadside traffic sensors and over 250 partner organisations

By bringing in information from many different areas, Atlas Pro provides updates on:

• local traffic speeds
• live electronic roadside messages
• unconfirmed incidents - to give early warnings

The service enables users to:

• define a particular area of the country and see information specific to it
• create customised Really Simple Syndication traffic information feeds
• sort traffic events, incidents and disruption by order of severity
• see a high-level overview of the current state of the major road network - this shows current travel times between major destinations
• provide early incident warnings instead of being limited to confirmed traffic events

How to become an Atlas Pro user

To use the Atlas Pro service you need to have a business or a professional interest in using the Highways Agency road network. You can register directly on the Atlas Pro website by completing and submitting an online form. Find a registration application form for Atlas Pro on the Atlas Pro website - Opens in a new window. The Highways Agency National Traffic Control Centre Liaison Team will contact you to approve your registration.
