1. Thinking of working for yourself?

2. Global Entrepreneurship Week – 16th to 21st November 2009
'Wow' Your City Future Enterprise Challenge - Business Link is working in partnership with the local Education Business Partnership, Southampton City Council and City Limits on a large-scale event for young people to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week. Young people from secondary schools across Southampton will be set the challenge of developing and promoting a fantastic new city image. Business Link will also work with a group of young people who are not in education, employment and training to support them to participate in this event.
With Southampton as 'the product', the teams of young people will develop the product, identify potential customers, think about how to promote the city and manage a small budget during the process. They will have access to a team of experts dealing with issues such as tourism, planning, marketing and general business advice. The teams will present their ideas to a judging panel at the end of the day, with prizes being awarded to the most enterprising group.

1. 'Self Confidence – The Skin You're In'
10th November 2009 from 09.30 to 12.30 held at The Riverside Centre, The Quay, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 2QR.
This free workshop encourages confidence through a combination of creative thinking and Neuro-linguistic programming. People will be given the opportunity to create imaginary 'skins' they can wear to promote confidence and wellbeing.

2. 'Show and Tell' network event
This event is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
19th November 2009 form 18.30 to 20.30 held in at The Riverside Centre, The Quay, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 2QR.
Open network evening to give you the opportunity to show and tell others what you do. Display space is available to exhibit your business. Meet with like-minded others, share ideas and help support each other through the difficult process of business start up.

3. 'Renew – Review - Refocus'
24th November 2009 from 09.30 to 15.30 held at Wheatsheaf House, Bernard Street, Southampton, SO14 3AY.
This free workshop is the ideal opportunity to recognise the skills you have developed whilst being employed. Through encouragement you will consider how these could be translated into a business idea.
By utilising creative processes and discussing your own situations, passions, dreams and experiences you will grow in confidence and feel more positive about your future and self employment.

4. 'An Introduction to Book-Keeping' Women's Event
2nd November 2009 from 10.00 to 12 noon held at Trust Taplins Learning Centre, Western Community Hospital, William MacLeod Way, Millbrook, Southampton, SO16 4XE.
This network will cover the basics of Book Keeping which will help you manage the money in your business and complete your end of year tax returns.
