The Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion

The Queen's Award for Enterprise Promotion (QAEP) is aimed at people who play a significant role in promoting enterprise skills and encourage entrepreneurial attitudes in others in the UK. It is for people who:

give up their time - and sometimes provide financial support - to help potential entrepreneurs in education or in the early phases of business development
work in education, training or youth work and help provide others with enterprise skills
are involved in social enterprise and either achieve business outcomes or help others develop business skills

Potential nominees may have performed any of the following activities:

provided a business model or been a role model
used innovative ways to increase business understanding and skills
mentored or offered financial support for starting or growing a business
assisted innovators to implement their ideas
promoted business enterprises in disadvantaged communities

This list is not exhaustive and there may be other activities worthy of nomination.

Applying for the QAEP

You have to be nominated by another person to be eligible for the award - you cannot nominate yourself.

How the recipients of the QAEP are announced

The awards are announced on 21 April - The Queen's birthday - and you will be informed beforehand if you have been successful.

If you are successful in your nomination, the recipient will be given an engraved crystal chalice. They will also be invited to a reception at Buckingham Palace.
