Managing paternity and adoption leave and pay

Introduction

Employers must not only be aware of the rights of new and expectant mothers on their workforce, but also those of fathers and people looking to adopt a child.

Using our two interactive tools, employers can find out their employee's entitlement to paternity leave (time off which can be taken soon after a child is born, to care for the child or support the mother) and adoption leave, how much they should pay them and their obligations regarding their return to work.

Each tool should take no more than five minutes to complete.

Please choose one of the following options to begin using the tools:

You can also use our interactive tool to find out how to manage new and expectant mothers in your workplace.
