Reduced pollution tax for buses and lorries

If you hold a current Reduced Pollution Certificate (RPC) for your bus or lorry, you can tax it at a lower rate of vehicle excise duty.

These certificates are issued by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency and are valid for a period of at least one year.

This guide explains what you need to do to obtain an RPC for your lorry or bus, what the lower rates of vehicle excise duty are, and how to apply to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency to tax your vehicle in a reduced pollution class.
