Online services for vehicle drivers, operators and driving instructors

Many government services for businesses in the transport industry are now available online. These transactions can make it quicker and easier to deal with government. They can also reduce the need to fill in forms or send documents by post.

For example, you can apply online to renew a vehicle tax disc with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. If you operate lorries or buses, you can book tests or make changes to your commercial vehicle operator's licence with the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency.

There are also more specialised transactions you can do online. If you're an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), you can manage your registration and book theory tests online with the Driving Standards Agency. If your business moves dangerous goods by road, you can search the Department for Transport's online database. This lists the packaging, labelling and placarding requirements for the type of goods you intend to carry.

This guide explains what transactions and services are available on this website, and how you can access them.
